Student appears for English (Hons) Exam but Shown Pass in Psychology (Hons)

A student was in great shock on the arrival of the result of Bihar University Bachelor degree English exam. Mohammad Tabrez, a student of Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav College in Bettiah was shocked to see the result. He was passed in Psychology, which he never opted as a subject, while he appeared in the English exam. The Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University conducted the exams for Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav College.

The student Mohammad Tabrez told that he appeared for the English honors with history and geography. But in the results, it was shown that he passed the exams with honors in Psychology. Nor only in the written exam, he had passed with pass marks in the Psychology practical. When he approached the examination section in his college, they told him that it is the mistake of the university. The examination wing told him to approach the university headquarters at Muzaffarpur that is at a distance of 128 km from his college.

However, the BRABU employees are not ready to take the responsibility of their mistake. The Bihar University employees claim that it is the mistake of Tabrez who filled the examination form incorrectly. The admit card of the student clearly confirms that he opted for English honors with history and geography as subsidiary subjects.

Discrepancies in the mark sheets

A non-teaching employee of the Ram Lakhan Singh college told that there are discrepancies in the marks sheets of 40% students. Students have also been shown absent in papers in which they actually appeared. A student Ramesh Paswan was declared as failed after he was recorded as absent in History honors paper. Another student Manoj Shrivastav was given marks for economics which he never opted, instead of history.

Past Examination Scams in Bihar

Earlier in 2017, the Bihar School Education Board (BSEB) failed a class 10th student Priyanka Singh in two subjects. The BSEB also declared a student Ganesh Kumar as a topper in class 12 examination but later discovered that he submitted the fake certificate as age proof.

In another case, the Patna high court issued arrest orders against Ruby Rai and three other toppers of class 12 exams. These students and BSEB were involved in a big examination racket.
