Diabetic JEE Main Students Allowed To Carry Fruits And Water Inside Exam Hall

Keeping in view the health of diabetic JEE main candidates, CBSE has allowed carrying fruits and water in the exam. The Central Board of Secondary Education has recently released some exceptions for diabetic students. Now the diabetic candidates can carry banana, apple, orange and water in the examination hall. However, students are required to carry water only in transparent bottles.

JEE main candidates will not be allowed to carry packaged foods like chocolates, biscuits, and candies in the exam hall. The next Joint Entrance Examination (JEE ) is scheduled to be conducted on April 8, 2018. CBSE has laid strict guidelines for candidates regarding dress code and items allowed in the exam. Students are not supposed to carry stationary items, wear ornaments or eatables in the examination hall.

Recent Changes in JEE main pattern

The Ministry of HRD has introduced two major changes in the JEE main exam pattern 2017. First, no weightage will be given to class 12 marks in calculating the JEE main ranks. Second, Candidates seeking admission to IITs, NITs, and IIITs should have secured minimum 75 percent marks in class 12 or be in the top 20 percentile. However, the minimum marks required for SC/ ST students will be 65 percent.

CBSE class 12 students to get less time for JEE main 2018

CBSE had recently announced that class 10 and 12 exams will be held in the month of March. Candidates appearing in CBSE exams 2018 will get less time to prepare for JEE -main. CBSE class 12 students will get approximately two weeks of time to prepare for JEE main. This amount of time is too less to prepare for an All India Level examination.

JEE Main Examination

CBSE conducts the Joint Entrance Examination every year for the selection of candidates for admission to engineering courses. Candidates who qualify examination are considered eligible to apply for admission to engineering programs. Exceptionally, candidates seeking admission to IITs, IIITs, and NITs are required to qualify JEE Advanced.

Most universities and engineering institutions offer admission to candidates on the basis of JEE- main merit.  The institutions and universities may have their own eligibility criteria in addition to JEE -main . The next JEE main will be conducted at various test centers across the country on April 8, 2018.
