CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) has recently issued a notification for CSSS scheme for College and University students. CSSS is the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for students studying in colleges and universities. CBSE stated in the notification that students can apply to renew their scholarship for the year 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Important Guidelines for renewal of CSSS scholarship scheme
Students can apply online for the renewal of scholarship scheme latest by December 15, 2017. The offline applications can be submitted until the last date December 31, 2017. The amount of scholarship is Rs,1000 / month for undergraduates during three years of their graduation. For postgraduate students, the scholarship amount is Rs.2000 per month during two years of Masters degree.
Interested students can visit the CBSE official website cbse.nic.in for the renewal of CSSS scholarships. Candidates who have already applied for renewal of CSSS scholarship 2015 through National E-scholarship portal should not apply. Applicants will need to submit a new application every year, attested by the Head of college or department of the university.
Students undergoing professional courses can apply for renewal of scholarships till their graduation level of study. For all other programs, students can apply for renewal of CSSS scholarships upto maximum five years of that stream. Applicants should have Aadhar card for document verification for renewal of CSSS scholarships.
Eligibility for renewal of CSSS scholarships (2012 – 2014)
Applicants must have passed the class 12 examination from as recognized board in 2012, 2013 or 2014. Applicants should not be availing the benefits of any other scholarships. Candidates should be scoring at least 60 percent marks in all the semesters of the course they are undergoing. The applicants should have at an attendance record of minimum 75 percent and a good character and discipline.
About CSSS Scholarship
The CSSS scholarship is a Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for college and university students by the government of India. On introduction of CSSS by the HRD Ministry, all the earlier scholarship schemes were discontinued. The scholarship is given based on the marks scored by a student in class XII. Any separate examination is not conducted by the government for Central Sector Scholarship Scheme.
